Affordable Housing
Affordable housing refers to housing units that are affordable to a section of society whose income is below the median household income as established by a local, state or national housing authority, such as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Affordable Housing Advisors (AHA) of Marcus & Millichap are the nation’s leading full-service brokerage team representing sellers and buyers of government-subsidized multi-family properties.
Founded in 1987, AHA was the first brokerage team in the country to specialize in the sale of affordable housing and remains the industry’s leader. The Detroit-based team, led by Andrew Daitch, Steven Miscavish, Seth Barnett and Matthew Kurzmann, has exclusively listed and sold more than 200,000 units of affordable housing throughout the country.
AHA’s foundation is based on the foresight and guidance of the team’s founder, Paul Davis. The team’s deep knowledge and understanding of the complexities within the affordable housing industry have been built on a strong understanding of the history beginning with the formation of the original HUD programs. AHA’s continued success is a result of its unique ability to maintain strong industry relationships while leveraging the most powerful marketing platform in the country via Marcus & Millichap’s 80+ offices nationwide.
In addition to decades of experience, AHA has grown over recent years with the expansion of the brokerage team which includes Jeremiah Jarmin, Gerson Askenazy, Tyler Martin, Neil Rosenthal and Alyssa Van Hyfte. AHA also includes a team of knowledgeable financial analysts, creative marketing professionals, and experienced escrow coordinators.
AHA has remained at the forefront of the industry through their focus on the brokerage of affordable housing and remains focused to enhance their client services for years to come.
