Mustang Bayou RV Park is a 74-site property located in Alvin, Texas. The property was built in 2014 and sits on 16.29 acres. The park operates on well water and septic sewer. Water, sewer, and trash are paid by the property, and electricity expense is billed back to residents. Amenities include Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, showers, restrooms, a playground, mail services, and a community room. Alvin is located in Brazoria County, home to well over 370,000 residents and ranked the 14th best county in Texas to reside. The county economy runs on medical, biotech, manufacturing, and petrochemical industries, anchored by more than $30 billion in petrochemical investment and one of the largest petrochemical complexes in the world. Alvin's population reached approximately 30,763 in 2026, up from 27,042 at the 2020 census, a 13.8 percent increase, with the city growing at roughly 2.15 percent annually. Alvin draws visitors as a lower-cost home base for coastal and big-city day trips, sitting within an hour of Space Center Houston, Kemah Boardwalk, Galveston, and downtown Houston. The Bayou Wildlife Zoo features more than 500 animals from 19 countries across 80-plus acres of drive-through, safari-style terrain. Froberg's Farm, an Alvin institution for more than 60 years, draws crowds for pick-your-own strawberries from mid-January through May, citrus picking from November through February, and a fall festival with a corn maze running from late September through early November. Alvin is home to the country's only dedicated night-lit disc golf course at Briscoe Park, and sits along the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail, part of a network with more than 300 distinct bird viewing sites along the Gulf Coast. The Alvin Antique Center, a 55,000-square-foot antique mall, adds another regional shopping draw. Some of the recent notable developments in the area include: February 2025: Port Freeport completed infrastructure improvements supporting the Velasco Container Terminal expansion, including a new storage area, terminal access project, and truck queuing improvements. March 2025: The Brazosport communities of Clute, Lake Jackson, and Surfside Beach earned Tourism Friendly Texas Certified Community status from Travel Texas, the inaugural class of the program. September 2025: Alvin earned the same Tourism Friendly Texas Certified Community designation from Travel Texas, recognizing the city's commitment to growing tourism as an economic driver. In progress: Preservation Creek, a new master-planned community spanning more than 14,000 acres in the Austin Bayou District, is planned to bring more than 5,000 homes, parks, trails, and protected waterways, with new home lots delivered to builders in the winter of 2026.
