Clay Brown

Clayton Brown is a commercial real estate agent based in Marcus & Millichap’s Seattle office, specializing in retail, net lease and industrial investment sales. He advises private investors, institutions, developers and owner/users on investment property transactions throughout the Pacific Northwest, with a focus on portfolio dispositions and transactions ranging from $5 million to $50 million.

Brown founded The Brown Group in 2016, a Marcus & Millichap retail, medical and industrial investment sales team that has closed nearly $1 billion in transactions. Known for creative problem solving and a strategic approach to complex transactions, he has set several pricing records across retail, medical office and industrial asset sales over the past decade. He also consistently ranks among the top 10 agents within Marcus & Millichap’s National Retail Group and Net Leased Properties Group and has been featured on industry panels, national Marcus & Millichap training webinars and in industry publications.

An instrument-rated private pilot, Brown uses aviation to efficiently serve clients, tour properties and evaluate commercial real estate across the western United States. Giving back is also a core part of The Brown Group’s mission. As a Philanthropic Partner with Food Lifeline, Brown and The Brown Group donate a percentage of earnings from every closed transaction to help feed families in need, with a goal of providing 250,000 meals by Dec. 31, 2028.

Outside of commercial real estate, Brown enjoys traveling, golf, sports, fishing, aviation and spending time with friends and family. He attended Campbell University on a baseball scholarship, where he posted a .427 batting average during his junior season, the second-highest batting average in NCAA Division I baseball that year.
