Hotel demand surging to a record high. Driven by pent-up domestic travel demand and the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Vancouver’s annual hotel occupancy rate is projected to surpass 80 per cent and reach a new record. Strong year-over-year gains are expected through the first three quarters, with occupancy exceeding 90 per cent during the peak FIFA World Cup period between June and July. The average daily rate is forecast to rise even more sharply, by 7.5 per cent, with the strongest gains in the summer months as occupancy approaches full capacity in the downtown and airport submarkets.
