Boost in Foreign Travel and the Return of Group
Demand Bodes Well for Orlando Hotels

ADR makes full recovery. Orlando’s lodging sector has experienced significant momentum in its recovery in 2022. Foreign visitation to the metro has been on an upward trajectory since Orlando International Airport resumed flights from the United Kingdom in November, and from Brazil in December 2021. Additionally, trade show and convention activity is on the upswing. Notable events like MegaCon Orlando and the AAU Junior National Volleyball Championships generated record levels of attendance, combining to attract more than 300,000 visitors to the metro in the second quarter. Beyond these major events, weekend leisure travel has been the key driver in the metro’s hospitality recovery as many vacationers opt to visit Orlando’s prominent theme parks. As of May, the average daily rate measured on a trailing 12-month average reached an all-time high. Additionally, annual RevPAR is projected to surpass the $100 threshold for the first time on record by the end of this year.
