The Epicenter of Engagement Parties, Nashville’s
Hospitality Sector Continues to Set Records

Group gatherings stir historic hotel demand. During the 12-month span ending in June, passenger counts at Nashville International Airport improved by 18.7 percent from the prior yearlong period. Now at record volumes, increased air traffic is symptomatic of Nashville’s rising status as a leisure travel destination for households nationwide. This is most apparent among young adults seeking locations for major life events, such as engagement parties. As of January, over 11,570 bachelorette parties were planned in the metro for 2023, doubling second-placed Scottsdale. These group visitations helped hotel demand rise to a historic 14.53 million room nights during the year ending in June. The metric jumped 18.4 percent over the comparable period ending in the same month of 2019, the largest improvement among major metros through that span.
