Atlanta Industrial Market Report
Atlanta’s Powerhouse Distribution Network Poised For Strong Performance Moving Forward
Economic conditions align well for industrial demand. The confluence of positive momentum against the health crisis and reestablishment of global supply chains will benefit Atlanta’s industrial assets. Online purchases by the local population will continue to remain elevated through the holiday season, and probably beyond, generating a need for everything from large warehouses to last-mile distribution centers. Additionally, the metro serves many other nearby markets. The other major demand driver is a backup at the Port of Savannah. Approximately 80,000 containers are stacked up at the port, 50 percent more than normal levels. Atlanta’s industrial inventory is being leveraged to relieve some of the pressure on the port, which still has several ships in a queue.
