Marcus & Millichap Brokers $7.1M Sale of Grocery Store in Eastern Pennsylvania
October 08, 2026
DOUGLASSVILLE, Pa., Oct. 8, 2026 – Marcus & Millichap (NYSE: MMI), a leading commercial real estate brokerage firm specializing in investment sales, financing, research and advisory services, announced the sale of Redner's Fresh Market, a grocery store in Douglassville, Pennsylvania. The asset sold for $7.1 million.
"The brand-new 20-year lease drew exceptional demand from net lease investors nationwide," said Colin Reder, associate director investments at Marcus & Millichap. "As one of the original Redner's locations and the No. 1 store within their chain, according to Placer.ai, this was a truly institutional-quality asset in a strong Philadelphia-area submarket."
Reder, Derrick Dougherty and Scott Woodard of Marcus & Millichap exclusively listed the property on behalf of the seller, a regional limited partnership, and procured the buyer, a large Philadelphia-area company.
"It was a pleasure working with both the seller and the buyer to bring this transaction to a smooth close, and we're grateful for the trust each side placed in our team," said Dougherty, senior managing director investments at Marcus & Millichap.
Located at 11 Douglassville Shopping Center, the 48,000-square-foot property sits on a 3.18-acre lot. It was built in 1976 and renovated in 2025. Redner’s Markets is a privately held, employee-owned grocery company with 64 locations across the Mid-Atlantic.
The property is situated in Douglassville, inside the Reading metropolitan area. It is directly off of Ben Franklin Highway, approximately 40 miles away from Philadelphia.
