Marcus & Millichap Arranges Sale of Las Vegas Retail Property to Longtime Tenant The Purple Chandelier
May 20, 2026
LAS VEGAS, May 20, 2026 – Marcus & Millichap (NYSE: MMI), a leading commercial real estate brokerage firm specializing in investment sales, financing, research and advisory services, announced today the sale of a two-tenant retail property occupied by The Purple Chandelier and Bodega Furniture.
“This transaction allowed one of the area’s best-known consignment retailers to secure its long-term location at a time when redevelopment pressure continues to reshape older retail corridors throughout Las Vegas,” said Candace Bare, senior director investments. “The buyers were committed to preserving the business, investing in the property and continuing operations at a location that has become well known in the area.”
Bare, investment specialist in Marcus & Millichap’s Las Vegas office, represented the buyer, Merra Cordier, a local entrepreneur and owner of The Purple Chandelier. Cordier purchased the property from an ownership group that included former Nevada Lt. Gov. Lorraine Hunt Bono.
“This purchase secures the long-term future of our business at a location that has become deeply connected to our customers and community,” said Cordier.
Built in 1977, the former OfficeMax building is located at 4995 S. Eastern Ave., near the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Tropicana Boulevard in Las Vegas. The property has seen limited renovations since OfficeMax vacated and is currently occupied by The Purple Chandelier, formerly Lynn’s World Consignment and Bodega Furniture. The acquisition allows The Purple Chandelier to remain at the property following interest from a developer pursuing demolition and redevelopment plans. Ownership intends to renovate and improve the facility while continuing retail operations on site.
