Marcus & Millichap Arranges Sale of 107-Room Independent Hotel in Elgin, Illinois

ELGIN, Ill., Jan. 12, 2026 – Marcus & Millichap (NYSE: MMI), a leading commercial real estate brokerage firm specializing in investment sales, financing, research and advisory services, announced today the sale of a 107-room hotel property in Elgin, Illinois.
“All parties worked diligently to bring this transaction to a successful close and to support the property's reopening in December 2025 following extensive renovations,” said Ebrahim Valliani, managing director investments. “The hotel is now part of the Marriott family and is scheduled to rebrand to the City Express by Marriott later in 2026.”
Valliani, investment specialist in Marcus & Millichap’s Chicago Oak Brook office, had the exclusive listing to market the property on behalf of the seller and procured the buyer. The transaction received additional support from Michael Klar, Allan Miller and Chris Gomes.
The property is located at 405 Airport Road, just off Interstate 90 and State Route 31. Built in 1994, the hotel sits on 2.23 acres and features 107 guest rooms, an indoor pool, fitness center and business center. Nearby demand drivers include Judson University, Advocate Sherman Hospital and the Grand Victoria Casino.
