Gus Lagos, Senior Managing Director Investments, and Alex Wolansky, Managing Director Investments, of Marcus & Millichap's Houston office, were recognized by REDnews as part of its 2026 Houston REDnews Awards as Broker Team of the Year.
The awards recognize professionals who have made significant contributions to commercial real estate across the Houston market. The Lagos-Wolansky Retail Group was recognized for its work advising clients on the acquisition and disposition of multi-tenant and single-tenant retail properties across Texas and the South-Central United States, as well as its continued transaction activity in a challenging investment sales environment.
During the year, the team closed 33 transactions totaling approximately $156 million in sales volume involving retail properties throughout Texas and the South-Central United States. Notable transactions included Spring Branch Village, an approximately 67,000-square-foot Class A retail center in Houston; a 1.34-acre development site in Houston's Upper Kirby area; Fondrenwood Shopping Center, an approximately 163,000-square-foot retail center in Houston; and Webster Shopping Center, an approximately 24,000-square-foot retail center in Webster.
Led by Lagos, who has closed more than 450 transactions totaling more than $1 billion during his career, and Wolansky, who has completed more than 160 transactions totaling more than $500 million in sales volume, the team maintains a 97% repeat business rate while continuing to expand relationships with investors throughout the region.
