Nicholas Kanich

Nicholas Kanich is a First Vice President of Investments at Marcus & Millichap based in their Chicago Downtown Office. He most recently served as a Senior Vice President with JLL’s Net Lease Property Group in their global headquarters in Chicago. He collaborated on closings with the Net Lease Team across the country and helped advise and foster the growth of the 7 member analyst pool that was housed in his office. Prior to JLL, he spent 7 years at Cushman & Wakefield where he and two other producers were recruited to begin and build their Chicago Retail Investment Sales team to compliment their strong retail leasing presence. He collaborated with his partners at C&W in numerous high profile sales on iconic Chicago streets such as Michigan Avenue, State Street and Oak Street. He began his career here at Marcus & Millichap in 2005 where he specialized in mixed-use and urban assets in the neighborhoods near Chicago's Loop.

Kanich has handled over $1.2 billion in investment real estate transactions nationally and has extensive experience in shopping centers, high-street retail, triple-net sales and passive cash flow net lease assets. His national credit tenant closed transaction history includes such marquee names as Bank of America, McDonald’s and Walgreens. He is a past board member of ICSC Chicago’s Next Generation Program, serves as the alumni coordinator for the Indiana Center for Real Estate Studies, Indiana University’s Real Estate Alumni Network in Chicago and sits on the advisory board for Indiana University’s Real Estate Center. Kanich holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance with an emphasis in Real Estate and Entrepreneurship from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business.
