Michael Kook

Michael Kook joined the Manhattan office of Marcus & Millichap in 2011. Since that time, he has maintained a focus on the valuation and sale of all commercial property asset types throughout New York City, Long Island, and New Jersey. Michael has significant transaction experience in all five boroughs and many of the surrounding submarkets, which enables him to add value to many of his client’s business plans. Michael has a diverse client base that runs the gamut from private investors to investment funds and has the ability to tailor strategies to different clients depending on the specific scenario.

Michael also specializes in the sale of single-tenant retail property throughout the country. Michael has extensive experience transacting on all the major sectors of this asset type such as drug stores, dollar stores, quick-service restaurants, gas stations, banks, medical, etc. He has sold properties in over 35 states. Many of the buyers for this asset class are executing 1031 exchanges. Michael has a thorough knowledge of the nuances of the 1031 exchange process and is viewed as a valued resource in this arena.

Michael has earned numerous honors and awards within Marcus & Millichap and from the industry at large. He was named one of the Commercial Observer’s 30 Under 30 in 2017 and was selected by Real Estate Weekly as a Dealmaker in 2019. Michael graduated from Yeshiva University in 2010 with degrees in history and economics. He resides with his wife and three children in Woodmere, Long Island.
