Matt Smego

Matt Smego is based in the Chicago Downtown office of Marcus & Millichap Capital Corporation (MMCC). He joined MMCC in February 2017 and has more than 10 years of commercial real estate finance experience. Mr. Smego is responsible for securing commercial debt and equity financing for an array of property types including multifamily, retail (single-tenant and multi-tenant), office, industrial, senior housing and hospitality. He is well connected and has lending relationships with national, regional and local funding sources including, but not limited to, agency lenders, banks, credit unions, CMBS lenders, life insurance companies, mezzanine lenders, private and public funds and bridge lenders. Prior to joining MMCC, Mr. Smego was a credit analyst with one of Chicagoland’s largest commercial banks.

Mr. Smego is a graduate of the University of Iowa, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Finance. He also served as the Vice President on the Tippie College of Business’ Real Estate Club. He is currently a member of the Mortgage Brokers Association and Real Estate Investment Association.
