John has over thirty years in commercial real estate investment management as an Investment sales broker, asset manager and acquisitions professional. Mr. Beeland's involvement includes every aspect of equity and debt ownership from cradle (acquisition) to grave (disposition). His coverage reaches most major metros in the eastern U.S., but focuses in the southeast. John joined Marcus & Millichap in 2014 and has represented national and regional owners of shopping centers and office buildings.
Prior to brokerage, John worked with value-add, opportunistic and stabilized real estate investments and specialized in recognizing and building value as well as recapitalization deals assisting in making debt structure more manageable. Mr. Beeland added value to core real estate through aggressive operating expense management and intensive efforts with tenant retention. He had previously been a principal in over $3.5 billion of acquisitions and dispositions and asset-managed over 30 million square feet of institutional assets with a cumulative value in excess of $4 billion.
John's experience extends through four major property types: retail, office (including medical office), industrial, and multi-family.
