James DeBuiser

First Vice President Investments

James joined Marcus & Millichap’s Ventura Office in 2014 as an Investment Sales Associate with an emphasis on Office and Industrial properties in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. He partnered with veteran broker, Gary Cohen, to form the Cohen | DeBuiser Team. James works closely with numerous institutions, REITS, Private Equity Funds, Public & Private Companies, Private Investors and Developers. He focuses on executing the sale of his clients’ assets throughout Southern California using his combination of extensive market knowledge, a detailed and aggressive marketing plan, and the ability to negotiate on his clients’ behalf. His clients can expect a persistent commitment to achieve the best terms, a timely sale, and to net the greatest yield possible. With the current shift in the market, he credits his continued success on his active private investor database which continues to grow daily and his consistent self-education. He enjoys educating investors on the variation of investments and understands the complexities of the financial model process which is important to many investors currently active in the market.

Before graduating with business degrees in both Real Estate and Finance from California State University Sacramento, James began his career in real estate by opening a residential investment company in Northern California. His early background in real estate helped build a strong fundamental foundation for the sale of investments.

In his free time, James enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding, golf, and fly fishing with his wife, friends and family.
