Chris Hurd

Christopher Hurd is a Senior Director of Investments and Director of the National Retail Group with Marcus & Millichap in the firm’s Sacramento-area office. Chris specializes in the acquisition and disposition of single- and multi-tenant retail properties, representing private investors, developers, partnerships, and institutional clients throughout California and across the country.

Chris approaches each assignment as a strategic partner to his clients, combining extensive market knowledge, transaction experience, and a hands-on approach to help clients make informed real estate decisions. His background in both investment sales and leasing provides him with a comprehensive understanding of retail real estate and allows him to identify opportunities to enhance value, stabilize assets, and position properties effectively for sale.

Chris began his commercial real estate career in 2008 with a large national full-service brokerage firm, where he specialized in representing national and regional tenants, landlords, and developers. Over the course of his career, he has sold and/or leased more than 2 million square feet of retail real estate.

His consistency and performance have earned him company-wide top producer recognition, as well as a nomination for the Sacramento Association of Commercial Real Estate (ACRE) Retail Broker of the Year Award.

Chris attended California State University, Sacramento after previously attending Washington State University on a football scholarship as a quarterback for the Cougars. During his time at Washington State, he was part of three NCAA bowl teams and the 2002 Pac-10 Championship team.

Away from the office, Chris’s greatest priority is his family. He and his wife, Courtney, have three children: Brody (14), Bailie (12), and Blake (11). Much of his free time is spent coaching and supporting his kids in their various sports, and he enjoys being on the field and sidelines nearly as much as he once enjoyed being on them himself.
