Rick Lechtman

Rick Lechtman is responsible for securing commercial debt and equity financing representing institutional, middle market and private clients encompassing an array of property types including multifamily, retail, office and industrial, self-storage, student housing, seniors housing, condominium, land and hospitality. Mr. Lechtman is well connected with national, regional and local funding sources including, but not limited to, agency lenders (e.g. Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac), commercial banks, CMBS lenders, life insurance companies, private and public funds and bridge lenders. Mr. Lechtman is also a member of both the Special Assets Services Group (SAS) and Note Advisory Services (NAS) and has represented numerous institutional lender, private equity firms, debt funds and special servicers in advisory and disposition of lender real estate owned (REO), performing and non-performing notes.

Mr. Lechtman has more than 20 years of commercial real estate finance and sales experience and has closed more than $2.0 billion in transactions as a principal and a broker, he specializes in the origination and placement of entire "capital stacks" including senior debt, mezzanine, preferred equity and joint-venture equity financing for clients across the country. Prior to joining the firm, as a commercial real estate capital advisor, in 2016 he served as the eastern regional director of Marcus & Millichap’s Capital Corporation, focused on expanding MMCC’s loan origination presence and capabilities the Eastern half of the U.S. In 2013, he joined Marcus & Millichap Inc. (MMI) as the eastern director, National Office and Industrial Properties Group (NOIPG) and oversaw the growth and development of MMI’s expanding office and industrial investment sales team for the Eastern US as well as oversaw MMI’s Note Advisory Services team.

Prior to joining Marcus & Millichap, Rick served for 10 years as managing director for the Ackman-Ziff Real Estate Group in New York City. His responsibilities included sourcing, underwriting, structuring and originating commercial real estate debt and equity. Mr. Lechtman has also held a similar position with CBRE/L.J. Melody & Co., and was a loan originator during CMBS 1.0 at J.P. Morgan and Nomura Securities Co. In 2008, Mr. Lechtman launched the New York City Chapter of NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, serving as founding chapter president and received the NAIOP Merit Award for Outstanding Contribution by a Chapter President, this chapter is now over 200 strong. Mr. Lechtman served on the NAIOP Corporate Board of Directors from 2011 - 2016 and is currently President Elect of the New York City Chapter. He is active in many aspects of the organization on both the national and local levels.

Mr. Lechtman holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy from Tulane University and received his Advanced Professional Certificate in Real Estate from New York University (NYU) Schack Institute of Real Estate.

Mr. Lechtman is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), NAIOP: The Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP) and The Industrial & Office Real Estate Brokers Association (IOREBA).
