Matt Whiteside

Matthew Whiteside is a commercial real estate broker based in Marcus & Millichap's Milwaukee office, specializing in multifamily investment sales. He advises private investors, property owners and developers on the acquisition and disposition of apartment properties throughout Wisconsin and the broader Midwest. With nearly three decades of commercial real estate experience at Marcus & Millichap, Matthew has built a reputation for providing strategic guidance across all facets of multifamily investments, including market-rate, tax credit, section 8, student housing and Rural Development properties.

Matthew has closed more than 20,000 apartment units, totaling over $1.2 billion in sales volume. Recognized as a market expert locally, the State of Wisconsin and the firm, he helps clients evaluate investment opportunities, navigate complex transactions and maximize value through informed pricing, market positioning and negotiation strategies. His deep understanding of multifamily investment sales and changing market conditions enables clients to make well-informed acquisition and disposition decisions.

Matthew's consistent performance has earned numerous firmwide recognitions, including 16 National Achievement Awards, 22 Sales Recognition Awards and two Chairman's Club honors. He was inducted as an Executive Managing Director in recognition of his sustained leadership, production and contributions to the firm. Matthew was also recognized among Marcus & Millichap's Top Investment Professionals, ranking No. 38 in 2024 and No. 22 in 2012. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
