Gerson H. Askenazy is a National Director Nonprofit at Affordable Housing Advisors of Marcus & Millichap, where he oversees the company's nonprofit initiative.
Gerson advises a ride range of nonprofit owners including churches, synagogues, union-based organizations, state agencies, housing authorities, fraternal organizations and several others.
His real estate career began in 1995, as he represented companies such as General Motors, Hertz Corporation, Diebold and Standard Federal Bank working to achieve their real estate goals throughout the Midwest. Gerson originally joined Marcus & Millichap in 1998 as multi-family broker for five years before pursuing acquisitions as a principal having acquired more than $30 million of single family homes throughout Michigan, while managing more than 1,000 units of multi-family housing. Gerson rejoined Marcus & Millichap and became a member of AHA in 2019.
Gerson is a founding member of The Young Friends of Woodward, a nonprofit focused on helping support Detroit youth. He also sat on various boards, including the Downtown Detroit Isaac Agree Synagogue, the Woodward Avenue Shul and the Birmingham-Bloomfield Chai Center. He is a strong supporter of local VFW's in Oakland County, Michigan and other philanthropic organizations throughout the region.
