Cycle-High Occupancy Supports Revenue Growth, Added Supply in Boston

Boston gains help hold regional occupancy at record level. The region’s positive momentum in hotel performance, including a more than 16-year high in occupancy, is being driven by large gains in Vermont and Boston. The metro’s room demand, lifted in part by World Series and Super Bowl victories in the 12 months before July, will be further improved by corporate expansions in Cambridge, supporting increased development. A limited number of deliveries are also coming to the region’s smaller markets, primarily Providence and Hartford.
