Charlotte Market Report
Strong Financial Foundation Leading the Local Recovery; Investors Seeking to Place Capital Scouring the Market
Dispersed working could benefit metro. The current recession has more companies reevaluating how they will exit the pandemic. Microsoft, for example, is giving managers the option of letting some employees work from home permanently. The tech giant is already expanding in Charlotte after announcing the addition of more than 400 positions. Honeywell and Lowe’s are also enlarging tech payrolls in the market and will increase headcounts by more than 2,000 workers. As more firms like Microsoft formalize dispersed working plans, employees from around the country will consider the metro due to the relative affordability and ability to purchase a home. Although the entire scope of dispersed working is still uncertain for other companies, Charlotte should benefit due to the prevalence of finance and tech firms.
