Who We Are

Dean Zang is an Executive Managing Director with Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services, specializing in the brokerage of retail shopping centers and net-leased investments. Dean joined the firm in 2003 immediately after graduation, and has since brokered the sale of over $5 billion in retail properties in 40 states across the country. Throughout his career, Dean has established himself as one of the top retail agents in the firm, consistently ranking in the Top 30 of the nearly 2,000 agents. Dean is also known as a thought-leader in the field, recognized for his creative, out-of-the-box approach to real estate. In May 2023, he was selected by Globe St., a national real estate publication, as a “Retail Influencer”. Dean’s signature assignments include the sale of two Walgreens locations on the famous Las Vegas Strip totaling over $100M in aggregate value, as well as an 18-property portfolio with complex leasehold lease structures for a New York City-based owner.

Dean obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Washington College. Dean was active in his fraternity, Kappa Alpha Order, and the Student Government Association as President. He was also a founding member of the campus’ Toastmaster chapter. While at Washington College, on the side, Dean practiced residential and commercial brokerage at the Hogan’s Agency in Chestertown, and interned at a development company, Richardson Property Corporation.

He is a native of Cecil County on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, an avid fan of water sports and boating, and an aspiring high-handicap golfer. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Court of Honor, a supporter of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, and served as board member of Friends of Guest House from 2016-2020. Dean presently resides in Arlington, Virginia, and spends most of his summer months in St. Michaels, Maryland. Dean enjoys spending time with his wife, Mandy, his golden doodle, Lucy, and his sons, Carter and Lucas.
