Dennis Shubert


Dennis joined Marcus and Millichap in the Richmond office in 2019, with a specialty focus on industrial properties and land investments in Virginia. He has a bachelor degree in Economics from CMU, and is licensed in Virginia.

Dennis has a storied background with almost 20 years of commercial real estate experience. He has had worked in various roles with a focus on strategic consulting, investments and acquisitions, as well as research/due diligence and valuation work. He has worked with a number of corporate clients and individual owners/investors to produce real estate solutions with a strategic and tactical perspective.
Dennis began his real estate career in 2000 working for a Real Estate Investment Trust in Boston as a project manager, coordinating construction and handling leasing duties. A few years later, he then transitioned to working as a Real Estate Economist for a national real estate research consulting firm, now known as Costar Strategy. In 2008, he transitioned to become the Director of Research for a large retail and multifamily investment fund.

In addition, Dennis served as an MBA certified Commercial Property Inspector, working with financial institutions, special servicers, and investment funds to assess CMBS assets and collateralized portfolio business. Assignments include due diligence, special servicing/assessment, physical inspections, underwriting, property valuation and modeling, and risk mitigation and assessment. He has physically inspected and assessed/underwritten hundreds of institutional grade properties - including 20 story office buildings, golf courses and amusement parks, and 1.5 MSF distribution centers.
