Economic Trends

Fort Worth employers doubled their pace of hiring over the past 12 months, adding 27,540 jobs after creating 13,800 positions in the prior period. By the end of 2017, the metro’s employment base will have grown by more than 25,500 workers. An elevated level of hiring this year will support a 3.8 percent increase in retail sales.

Vacancy Trends

The vacancy rate for storage units will decline by 80 basis points to 10 percent, ranking Worth as the tightest primary market in Texas. Heightened demand in the metro’s Southwest region will reduce local vacancy by 300 basis points to 9.8 percent.
