Key Border Patrol Station Changes Hands in South Texas

WESLACO, Texas, Feb. 6, 2017 – Marcus & Millichap (NYSE: MMI), a leading commercial real estate investment services firm with offices throughout the United States and Canada, announced the sale of Weslaco Station, a 54,483-square-foot office building leased by U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Weslaco, Texas.
“The facility’s strategic, centralized location between two top border crossings makes it a hub for training and a meeting place for government agencies from all across the Rio Grande Valley,” says Joshua Murphy, senior associate in Marcus & Millichap’s San Antonio office.
Murphy represented the seller, a private joint venture, and procured the buyer.
The Border Patrol has been the building’s tenant since March 2009. A new roof was installed in 2014 and in three acres of parking were added in 2015. The current lease runs through February 2024.
