Ridge MacLaren


Donald “Ridge” MacLaren, Jr. specializes in the sale of multifamily investment properties throughout the greater Philadelphia tri-state region. He is a licensed real estate broker in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. He has consistently ranked as the Philadelphia office's top multifamily agent. He is recognized routinely for his performance with multiple National Achievement Awards ranking him among the company's elite agents. Since joining Marcus & Millichap in April of 2000, Ridge has closed 115 transactions totaling over 10,501 multifamily units and 508,857 square feet of office and retail property, aggregating $648 million in sales volume. Ridge graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1971, and served his country as a First Lieutenant with tours in the United States and Germany. Five years later, upon completion of his military service, he returned to Philadelphia and joined the firm of Walter M. Wood Jr. Real Estate, Inc. During his eight years with Wood, he sold both residential and investment properties and headed the firm's Management Division. In 1984, Ridge formed his own brokerage and management company (MacLaren Management Company) which represented institutions, insurance companies, pension funds, REITs and individual investors. His past professional accomplishments also include accreditation as a Certified Property Manager (CPM) and a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), past president of the Apartment Association of Greater Philadelphia, regional vice president of the National Apartment Association, and active involvement in the local and national chapters of the Institute of Real Estate Management, the National Multi-Housing Council and the West Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. In 2007, he was awarded Top Producer for the entire Philadelphia office, and received the Gold Achievement Award for Sales in 2009. Ridge was awarded the 2011 National Achievement Award for Sales. In 2012, he was promoted to First Vice President Investments.
