Ian Ruel joined theWashington D.C. office of Marcus & Millichap in 2014 as a member of theretail, office and mixed-use team led by Josh Feldman. Since joining theFeldman Group of Marcus & Millichap, Mr. Ruel has closed numerous retail,office, industrial, multifamily and development transactions nationwide,primarily in the District of Columbia and has represented a wide variety ofclients, including private investors, owner-operators, religious institutions,and community organizations. Mr. Ruel has repeatedly demonstrated the abilityto navigate complex transactional issues, including significant environmentalcontamination, challenging and fluid tenant situations, LIHTC developmentdeals, in addition to understanding the District of Columbia’s HistoricPreservation process. He focuses his efforts on properties located in downtownD.C. as well as the Northeast and Southeast quadrants of the District. Mr. Ruelhas been at the forefront of the revitalization efforts of historicallyunderdeveloped, underpopulated and underutilized areas like H Street NE,Trinidad and Ivy City. As a resident of northeast D.C, Mr. Ruel has witnessedthis progress firsthand. He is committed to establishing a strong presence inthese areas and is excited about their future.
Mr. Ruel graduated fromBowling Green State University in Ohio with a dual degree in Finance andMarketing while also playing Division I hockey. He remains passionate abouthockey and volunteers his time as the coach for a youth team in the area. Mr.Ruel is a member of the Washington D.C. chapter of the Urban LandInstitute.
