Daniel J. Burkons


Dan Burkons holds the title of Senior Vice President of Investments with Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services and serves as a Senior Director within its National Multi-Housing Group. He is also a member of the National Self-Storage Group. One of the three founding agents of the firm's Cleveland office in 2003, he has been a consistent leader in multifamily investment sales in the Midwestern United States brokerage community for the past 10 years. During his career, Mr. Burkons has closed transactions totaling in excess of $660,000,000. He is unique among members of his firm for having excelled in not only multifamily, but also self-storage and distressed assets.

With a focus on Cleveland, Columbus, and Pittsburgh MSAs, he proudly counts several of the largest apartment owners in Ohio and Pennsylvania among his clients, many of whom he is honored to have represented on multiple occasions over the years.

In addition to his work in Ohio and Pennsylvania, Mr. Burkons has successfully represented owners in complex transactions throughout the Midwest, as well as in Texas and South Carolina. Having led teams of agents on multi-state marketing campaigns for portfolios of as many as 25 properties at a time, he has proven adept at designing the most efficient and effective tailor-made strategies to maximize value for his Sellers. In his work as a Buyer's representative, Mr. Burkons has orchestrated a client's purchase of six retail properties across three states within the strict guidelines of a single 1031 exchange.
Dan currently heads the top producing team in the state of Ohio and has mentored and trained more than 10 CRE investment professionals from the firm's Cleveland, Columbus, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia offices. Outside his countless hours spent in the brokerage business, he is active in several professional and community organizations- as a Board Member of the Hebrew Free Loan Association, the Bonei Atid section of Jewish Community Housing, and the Parkinson’s Pals organization. Mr. Burkons is regularly quoted in publications such as The Cleveland Plain Dealer, Crain's Cleveland Business, Real Estate Alert, and National Real Estate Investor.
