John Wise is a Vice President of Invesments with Marcus & Millichap. John is also the only East Coast agent of Marcus & Millichap with the prestigious designation of Senior Director in the firm's National Office & Industrial Properties Group. In his career, John has brokered over $600 million in investment transactions and has represented such clients as Prudential Real Estate Investors, IDI, Jamestown Management, Wells Real Estate Funds and Prologis. John is a knowledgeable and experienced commercial broker with over 35 years of experience in investment real estate. Like many agents affiliated with our firm, John is dedicated to working diligently on his clients' behalf. Aligned at all times with his clients' best interests, John strives to be a leading expert in real estate brokerage of office and industrial properties and to provide maximum value to each client.
John obtained his BBA in Accounting at Texas Tech University in 1964, and went on to graduate from the University of Texas School of Law in 1967. He practiced law in Dallas, Texas in real estate and tax litigation before moving full-time into financial planning, real estate acquisitions and underwriting analysis. From 1975 to 1989 John oversaw the operation of two real estate investment firms as President and was responsible for asset management of over $500 million in assets located throughout the United States. John is a member of the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors, NAIOP, and of the Atlanta Realtor's “Million Dollar Club”. In 2003, John brokered the largest office transaction in Atlanta with the $131,000,000 sale of the IBM Regional Headquarters on Northside Parkway.
