Linwood Thompson serves as a senior vice president of Marcus & Millichap and directs the firm’s National Multi Housing Group. This group consists of more than 450 apartment investment specialists in offices across the country. During 2008, the National Multi Housing Group closed more than 1,400 apartment transactions. Mr. Thompson began his career with Marcus & Millichap as a broker in the firm’s Denver office in 1979. From late 1980 through 1998, he managed regional offices in Los Angeles, Houston, Phoenix and Chicago. He was elected to the board of directors of Marcus & Millichap and became a partner in 1987. Mr. Thompson is a member of the executive committee of the National Multi Housing Council and the vice-chairman of its Political Action Committee.
