POSITION: Financial Analyst

Marcus & Millichap is the nation’s largest real estate investment brokerage company, and we’re based in beautiful Palo Alto. We’ve created an opportunity for a highly motivated Financial Analyst to assist in development of business models, perform business analyses and other various finance related projects. We are looking for a confident and self assured player to be a key member of our Finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain monthly internal financial packages for senior management.

• Create and maintain quarterly financial and operational analyses.

• Maintain the business intelligence Dashboard using SAP Business Objects suite of applications.

• Assist in the development of Dashboard content. Participate in technical training as necessary to support system enhancements.

• Play a key role the annual planning process: create and update budget templates, provide related analyses, perform final compilation of budget and upload into SAP.

• Support the administration of various internal systems including the document management system (DMS) and Business Objects. When needed, liaison with users and technical personnel to resolve issues.

• Perform ad hoc reporting through data mining and compilation in various applications and systems including: MS Excel, SAP, Business Objects, and proprietary systems.

• Maintain a high level of accuracy and integrity in all areas of engagement.

• Pursue ongoing skill development to enhance the efficiency and quality achieved in department objectives.


Skills, Education & Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Mathematics is required; MBA a definite plus
• At least 2-3 years of relevant analytical experience is preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
• Detail and systems oriented, strong organizational skills
• Strong proficiency in Excel is required, including the use of macros and pivot tables; experience with SAP or other Tier 1 ERPs is highly desirable
