POSITION: Database Developer

Our rapidly growing IS department is looking for an entry level Database Developer to work in our Encino, CA corporate office. This is a full-time position starting immediately.

Title: Database Developer

Job Profile:
The ideal candidate would assist the database administrator and the development team in creating table structures and related database elements to support new/ongoing projects. This person would also help maintain the existing database system and its links to external data systems.

Job Location: Encino, CA

Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science
• 3 years of experience in a production database environment using SQL Server 2000/2005/2008, and/or MySQL
• Proficiency with SQL Server 2005/2008 development and n-tiered architectures

Required skill set:
• Excellent grasp of SQL (preferably T-SQL) including joins and unions
• Knowledge of RDBMS concepts and real-world implementation issues.
• Ability to create and maintain Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, SSIS etc.
• Ability to create and maintain reports in an enterprise platform like Crystal Reports, or SQL Server Reporting Services.
• Clean database coding skills with emphasis on good documentation
• Ability to analyze issues rapidly, and come up with logical solutions that are reasonably future-proof.
• Willingness to learn, and to look beyond band-aid solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

Preferred additional skills:
• Familiarity with SQL Server (2005/2008) Analysis Services MDX/DMX.
• Familiarity with .NET CLR programming
• Familiarity with Business Objects Universe design and implementation.
• Familiarity with .NET data access mechanisms and security concepts.
• VBA and VBScript automation
